ALICE & JAMES

“He managed to be both present and invisible (how I’ve no idea), and we were genuinely honoured to have him alongside us on the best day of our lives”.

Hi, I’m Josh and the above picture is me frolicking in the sand!…As much as I deeply love to do this, I also have other passions like music, french, nature and of course wedding photography! I’m a Lewes based wedding photographer and simply love the honest in-between moments that make a story really interesting (I’ve always been fascinated with street photography for this reason). There are millions of things that can happen throughout the day, millions of missed moments. And my job is to capture as many as I can. Like the secret funny looks from across the room, a hug from your best mate or a heart to heart. Noticing and capturing these moments that you might otherwise miss is what I love!

And it’s why I fell in love with the first wedding I shot. Up until that point, I was really into photographing nature and wildlife, travelling all over in search of hidden places and beautiful light - In fact, the first wedding I shot I discovered what makes photographing people so incredible. Raw moments, love, laughter, tears, all the emotions, and creative challenges around every corner.

I have a natural approach to shooting weddings – I believe it’s the best way to capture the real, heartfelt moments that make your day so special. In my experience, this relaxed style not only produces stunning results but also allows me to document the story of your wedding day as it unfolds, effortlessly and authentically.

My couples often tell me they’re amazed at how I manage to be everywhere at once – catching all those little moments – while remaining completely unobtrusive. It’s like having a friend there who just happens to know how to wield a camera!

What’s more, I’m all about getting to know you, figuring out what makes you tick, and sharing a laugh along the way. I find that when we connect and have fun together, it helps make the whole “being followed by a photographer” thing feel way less awkward and much more enjoyable.

Does my approach sound like the perfect fit for your big day? Let’s chat more and see how we can make magic happen together!
